Yes. When the Android edition arrives, local-only use will remain available. Connecting Google Drive is optional.

No. Background synchronization is best effort and may be delayed by Android power management. The app will show the last successful sync state.

Alfie for Android is coming soon. When it arrives, Room will keep the working budget on the device, so local-only use will be available without connecting a cloud service.

Google Drive is optional and Android-only

If you choose sync, Alfie will use the hidden Drive appDataFolder for Android devices only. It will request the narrow app-data permission and will not place a visible budget file in your regular Drive folders.

Background sync is best effort, not real time

Android power management and network conditions can delay background work. Alfie will show whether changes are waiting and the last successful sync time rather than promise instant delivery.
