Alfie is local-first: no bank connection, no advertising profile, no third-party analytics, no generative AI, and on-device receipt recognition.
The short version
Alfie Budget is designed to keep budgeting private. Apex Radius does not operate an Alfie account service, does not receive your budget, receipt, merchant, note, or category data, and does not use advertising identifiers or third-party analytics in the app.
Budget data is stored on your device and, when iCloud is available, in your private iCloud container. Receipt recognition runs on the device. Alfie is a local, authored assistant and is not backed by a generative AI service.
Information Alfie processes
- Budget amounts, categories, goals, recurring items, and activity you choose to enter.
- Receipt photos you choose to scan and the text Alfie recognizes from them on device.
- Reminder preferences used to schedule local notifications on your device.
- Local settings such as tutorial progress, appearance, and optional privacy-lock preferences.
- Purchase and subscription status supplied by Apple through StoreKit. Apple processes the transaction and payment details.
How information is used
The app uses your information only to calculate and display your budget, save your chosen settings, recognize receipts, schedule reminders, restore your place, and determine whether premium editing is available.
Alfie does not connect to banks, import financial accounts, sell data, profile you for advertising, or send promotional notifications.
Device, iCloud, and Apple services
Your device stores the working copy of your budget. Private iCloud storage can help recover routing and app data across devices signed in to the same Apple Account. Apple controls iCloud and StoreKit under Apple’s own privacy terms.
Face ID or device-passcode authentication, when enabled, is handled by iOS. Alfie receives only the authentication result and does not receive or store biometric data.
Camera, photos, and notifications
Camera or photo-library access is requested only when you choose a receipt action. Recognition is performed on device, and no transaction is added until you confirm the editable review.
Notification access is requested only after you create a reminder. Alfie schedules local reminders with private copy that omits financial amounts by default.
Retention and deletion
Your local information remains until you edit it, delete it in Alfie, remove the app and its data, or use the in-app data deletion control. Data held in private iCloud may remain according to your iCloud settings and Apple’s retention behaviour.
Apex Radius may retain support messages you send to us only as long as reasonably needed to answer the request, maintain support history, protect the service, and meet legal obligations.
Children, security, and changes
Alfie Budget is a general-audience budgeting tool and is not directed to children. Do not enter information you are not authorized to store.
We use platform security controls and least-privilege access, but no device or cloud system is risk-free. We may update this policy when the app, Apple services, or legal requirements change.
Your choices
- Use Alfie without enabling camera, photo, notification, or privacy-lock permissions.
- Review or revoke permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
- Export supported budget data before deletion where the app offers that control.
- Contact dev@apexradius.io with a privacy, access, correction, or deletion question.
